So what is the 2016 Victorian Christmas Market?
The simplest answer is that it’s an extra-big market in Horncastle, taking place on Sunday 4 December from 11 am to 4 pm, where the High Street is closed and lined with Christmas themed craft stalls, artisan manufacturers, and delicious food suppliers.
That sounds rather good…
It is rather good. We have a main stage where musicians perform for your entertainment… This year headlines Adele tribute act Katie Markham. Evonne Rivers, Papillon, Coningsby Military Wives and The Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force Band will also be appearing. Your compère will be the irrepressible Darren Yates.
Street entertainment includes Stilt Walkers, Punch & Judy, Alford Morris Men, and Father Christmas will be in his grotto.
You can come along just to enjoy the music if you so wish, but we think that you will be enticed by the smell of freshly cooked ostrich burgers, distracted by cheeses, or completely waylaid by naughty sweets.
Quotes from previous stallholders;-
“We love coming to Horncastle. There is always a buzz because of the background entertainment and people are happy to visit our stall.”
And from the public;-
“There’s such a variety of stalls and things for the kids to enjoy. We’ll come again!”
There’s also crafts, charities, and community groups. We really do feel as though you would be hard pushed not to have a good time.
